You have the power to end generational traumaIt's up to us to break generational curses. When they say, 'It runs in the family, you tell them, 'This is where it runs out. My own journey of healing myself and my family story of childhood sexual abuse was a long and winding one.
When I was young we didn't talk about it except on one specific occaision when my mom couldn't avoid it any longer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The story was then compounded by having my first baby when I was still so young - just 19. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And the question slowly emerged over time as two more babies shortly came into our family. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do I raise whole humans when I am not whole myself? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I remember one specific evening not long after my first BodyTalk training. I was sitting in my tiny living room with my three teenagers laying around me, and I was going from one to the other practicing Bodytalk on them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As they laid around me breathing deeply, relaxed, and quiet, I could feel their body's breath and how that breath connects them to each other- and to me. In that moment I realized that my healing is their healing and their healing is my healing. I knew in that moment that this is why I am their mom. I became a healer to end the story of trauma in our family. And they chose me to be their mom because they knew that story would stop here. In the living room of my tiny apartment. The story stops here. Our family legacy will now be the passing on of generational healing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It doesn't mean that bad things will never happen to them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But it does mean that that they already know what it is to be whole and they already have access to the tools so trauma doesn't perpetuate or recycle itself like it does in so many other stories. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They got this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We got this.
