We've been listening to our bodies ever since we were in utero. After we were born we listened to it tell us when it was hungry, too warm, or too cold, etc.
When we grew up, we listened to our bodies tell us when we could trust someone and not another. We listened when it said we were safe or in a dangerous situation. We even listened when it told us to wear that red shirt instead of the blue one. We've been listening for so long we've forgotten what listening is. BodyIntuitive and BodyTalk allow us a space in which we can listen to what's going on in our body - deeply listening for what it needs for healing. What are other places that allow this space? Meditation, prayer, painting, hiking, dancing? Those are great spaces, but sometimes our brain hijacks the information we get- squashing it, criticizing it, dismissing it. Sometimes we don't trust that we are listening accurately. Sometimes we are so deep in our darkness that we can't see the light, thus eliminating our ability to listen. That's why seeing an objective observer, a practitioner, who's trained to navigate your body's Priority for healing is so important. Your body is so smart and knows what it needs for healing at any given time. Do you have a practitioner who listens? Call me, text me, or book online 720-310-8525

Your beliefs about stress determine whether or not its harmful to youNew studies are out showing that there are two modes to stress. The harmful version is called Threat Stress. Threat stress tells the body, "I'm overwhelmed," "I can't" and "I might die from this.' Threat stress releases cortisol, the main hormone responsible for the body's stress response and coinciding negative health implications. Living in a state of chronic stress can create a range of health issues from migraines to heart disease, insomnia, and autoimmune conditions. But studies are showing that a second kind of stress, Challenge Stress, can actually shift the bodies response system into creating greater health and wellbeing. Challenge stress is aptly named because it is created when we embrace the challenges in our life as opportunities to overcome and accomplish difficult tasks. When we shift into Challenge stress mode, our cognitive functions improve and cortisol levels lower. Challenge Stress tells the body, "This is hard, but I can do it!" Here are a few articles that talk about the different kinds of stresses and tool you can use to shift your body's stress response.
